Pissing people off, even if no one is listening!

I LOVE the hatches magazine publication... any fly tyer of any skill level can take something from it.

Alex Cerveniak wrote and article on Parafoam Dries(see hatches 2011 issue) and in turn pissed some people off, yours not included. His article was honestly refreshing regarding Catsklill Dry Flies. He stated that the proportions were off (not word for word) their presentation on the water was askew (not a quote, read the article or ask Alex yourself).

I am from Schoharie County, NY (warm water fishery) and learned to fly fish in the Catskills. I love the Catskill flies and the tyers who developed them but every change is positive in the overall scheme of things. Some people disagree with this line of thought.

Way to knock these bast#$ds out of their waders Alex!

Not all but alot off the Catskill crowd of fly fisherman, both domestic and tourist are the equivalent of Kate Moss or Naomi Campell in waders casting dries.... primadona knitting circles. Some helped guide me but many dissuaded me in my tutelage.

I am going to tie an alternate version of Alex's March Brown Emerger with the same materials but different color variations to come close to a Hendrickson. Dont be afraid to shake things up, Mr Cerveniak isnt or Mr. Cohen(Deer Hair King), Jasper(Love the Anchor Flies) , Tutalo, Lombardo, or Mr. Jorgensen(God bless).

If you find yourself lost in translation when you are in the Catskills seek out Ken Tutalo of The Baxterhouse or anyone in his establishment located in the town of Roscoe, NY

Thanks Ken!
